Teddington Harris Wilson, such a mouthful has become a household name the past three football seasons as the Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Born January 6, 1980 in Louisville, Kentucky to a single mother, his brief history is shared on numerous websites including wikipedia. The older half brother of New York Giants Miles Wilson, the pair did not understand they were brothers until they were about seven and eight. But for Teddy, it had taken until his teenage years to finally realize his dad was a sleaze who knocked up not only his mother but a few months later, the woman who would become is second mother. The only reason why Sally Harris kept his surname was because she knew exactly who her son’s father was and thought it was right. As soon as Teddy could walk, he discovered the ball that would become his life from his maternal grandfather, a lifelong fan of the Indianapolis Colts. When his local Pop Warner had sign-ups there he was with his Gramps signing up. It wasn’t until the first actual season when Teddy learned of two things, who is father was and that he had a brother. It all went down like this; their father catches word about his kids playing on the same team, goes to support them and the mother of the oldest knocks him to the ground…

However, their father isn’t the most important staple in Teddy’s life, his mother, second mom, Grandfather and his younger brother all shaped him to become the person when he went off together. But all through his childhood up until the end of high school football was his life and when most expect it to end their last year of high school, Teddy was fortunate. Attending one of two, prestigious Catholic All Boys School in Louisville, St. Xavier, Teddy’s rival was none other than his younger brother Miles. Miles has always and will always bring out the best and sometimes worse in his brother when it comes to the field. Something Teddy is always grateful for. When it came to college recruits coming after the both of them, Teddy opted for being a Trojan and Quarterback for the University of Southern California.

At USC, the girl who sat down next to him at Freshman Orientation would change his life forever. Sophie Carlisle. The two became fast friends and although Teddy, known as T-Wil in both high school and college, was such a big ladies man always had a special place for Sophie in his heart, right next to Sally and his ma. When he realized he had feelings for Sophie, Teddy’s world went dizzy and he fell completely in love with her, but you wouldn’t be able to tell. At the end of their Senior year of college, Sophie became pregnant and terrified that she’d ruined Teddy’s NFL dreams, was scared but Teddy knew it was going to work out in the end…loved the idea of her carrying his child. Although Teddy was one big ball of stress the entire time!

After impressing scouts at the NFL Combine, Teddy did enter the 2003 draft and wasn’t signed. However, he finally settled as an undrafted rookie with the Dallas Cowboys and soon after entered the training camp. But with so much potential, this once third string Quarterback was almost cut from the team if it wasn’t for a former teammate’s rumored substance abuse. It wasn’t until his fourth season when his career finally picked up and by then as his career was at one of his highs; his personal life was at one of his lows. When his son was born in late 2003, everything was fine but when Sophie wanted a career of her own, it got pretty difficult and the fact that Teddy and his uncommon sense ways never, ever proposed to her. Something he still doesn’t know what was part of the break up. But if you ask him and he did get asked for a cosmopolitan interview earlier this year, who the love of his life was, he would say “She has my heart forever and no one could steal it away no matter how hard they tried.” After all, she put up with so much and had given him, Tristan Daniel Wilson, their son. Whom they have joint custody of and spends every other weekend with, even during the season. Tristan can always be seen with his mama Sally in the stands when necessary.

But with his football career brings his brother Miles, the Quarterback for the New York Giants and just like the old St. X/Trinity days it was always going to happen. As competitive as the boys were, it was always intense for Teddy. The slightly embarrassing Giants/Cowboys game in January of 2007 left Teddy mad for two weeks. The interception that cost Dallas the Superbowl and come Superbowl Sunday, Teddy was seen reppin’ his brother’s jersey in Arizona. Miles brings out the best and worst in Teddy on the field and it’s something he’ll never be able to understand. But he will always admire his brother.

On the off season, Teddy is in the same place as his son and his former girlfriend. Almost always. The player in T-Wil did come back out and now since he lost his love, he is now seen with a plethora of girls on his arm. Relationships don’t last more than a few months because as Teddy says in their last conversation: “You’ll never be her.” Which makes him look like an ass in the end, but he doesn’t care he wants his family back. Or if he’s not stalking his former girlfriend, he’s bugging the shit out his brother or annoying his mom and step-dad. But all in all, Teddington, who really doesn’t like his full name is living his semi-dream of being a Quarterback of America’s team hopes to go down in history books like his idols.
